I'm an admin and I've noticed this issue as well, INTPenis. I've just resolved to taking the fediblock tag with a huge grain of salt. Stick to your values and do your own investigations instead of caving to social pressure. O

That would be great, honestly. An average person can finally write their own apps for themselves and their friends.

I think the “liking Twitter post” part was just a coincidental joke.

The author mentions that they don’t want something similar to Twitter. I feel like they should give Mastodon a try. It differs from person to person, but for me the Fediverse is a lot more personal, equitable and smaller due to the way fede

I'm not sure how joinmastodon.org can improve its UX for sign-up. It seems as simple as it can be right now, without just piling everyone onto mastodon.social. Any ideas? Perhaps a "pick what topics you like, and here's a cou

I'm not using any search engines. Trying to browse the web using a combination of organically discovered links, portals, bookmarks and history. I'll want to write a plugin in the future that automatically caches the pages I visit,

If you’re using Mastodon web UI, especially v4, you can click the eye icon on the top right to unhide or hide all CWs in a thread. My server has a rule for CW on all politics. If someone from another server (eg a journalist server) posts po

You're talking about the ActivityPub "MOVE" message. Yes, that would be possible I believe.

There is no mechanism currently to subscribe to a blocklist. Some forks allow exporting/importing block lists as CSVs, but that is manual. Am new admin for a friend-only instance; currently blocking seems to be done via user reports +

That is indeed usually what happens if the admin doesn't want to deal with a big userbase. I run an instance and I intend to close it off if it reaches about 100 monthly active users.
