Seems weird to me (from nowhere near SF) that some of the cheapest things to do are to block fire stations, fire hydrants and 'fire lanes' (I assume that's like a bus lane but for fire engines, in places that's common en

State (in this sense at least) isn't word/token parsing progress, it's comprising all the input and any context (which may include the entire chat history for example).

It's interesting though isn't it, because if she contracts someone good, the ghostwriter does an excellent job of imitating her style, then really you do get exactly what you wanted? I don't like the idea of it either, fwiw,

I'm not at all discounting the value of rallying a community around one configuration - I just think dotfiles could have been the distribution mechanism, and it would be as valuable given the same community around it.

'Embellishment' seems absolutely standard for a novel, some authors more than others, and it's exactly what you're taught to do clumsily in school. The actions in the train scene didn't seem so bizarre to me, and ev

It's older than AI, I think people do it because it seems to work - where 'work' means builds hype and 'community' and GitHub stars fast.

Not having heard of either of these before, but now seeing z linked by sibling comment too, I would guess 'z oxide' is a Rust re-implementation of z.

Who would make it? Do the likes of Broadcom have the vision & ambition to push into that class? I could see it happening if AMD decided Arm was the way to progress, but that would be bold too. (AMD does already have an architecture lice

Thousands of people share their dotfiles though, there's just no need for it to be its own Arch-derivative distribution. Could've just been 'here are my dotfiles, works best on Arch'.

The Arch installer even prompts you to ask if you want to add various common stuff (and you can of course add anything else).

Something like the mock one here I think is really more often largely intended as a sort of logbook entry, a note to self, 'how I did x' (in case it breaks, I need to do it again, update it), it isn't really 'for me'

I started by saying progress today seems more industrial (vs. academic) - if you fall down the same trap of naming a single figurehead, then yeah, that is people like Musk & Bezos. I too have more respect for Turing.

I applied to MIT from the UK 15 years ago, I'm fairly sure I'm not among whom you mean by 'the wealthy'. (I failed the alumnus interview; failed STEP mathematics exam to meet accepted Cambridge offer; went to Imperial.)

They must have meant the brand Bakfiets. 'Cargo bike' is what they're known as, in my experience in the UK anyway, and 'bakfiets cargo bike' would be redundant if not meaning the brand.
