Dude, what are you rambling about? The same can be achieved in Apache with 2 config lines. Nginx has taken over some of Apache's market because it's lighter on resources, i.e. with the same amount of resources it can process &

This is not a great move. A great move would've been to sell Android phones, even in the 25th hour. Suicide by Microsoft.

What a tragic end to the sad story of Nokia. It was a long time coming now, but I'm still gobsmacked. Looking back it's as if Elop and whoever his puppeteer is did all they could to undermine this company. Sold to Microsoft for bi

I would say it's more secure to roll your own rather than using a "provider". You can never know what the provider is monitoring/logging.

I work in a DC and DDOSes happen very frequently. Because everyone can hire a botnet for 50 euros, there will be even more coming. Should I post to HN every time my company gets hit?

Nice, but ... webm needs to get hardware support (ie so it can be played from smartphones, tablets, raspberrypi etc), until then it's doomed to irrelevance.

I'm not very sure about that. It certainly worked, but Xen lost a LOT of market to KVM, to the point they open sourced the whole thing (maybe a little too late?) in order to slow down the fall. At least this is my impression. At the en

It's fully open source, it's called Ovirt, find it at ovirt.org. The one thing they do not provide to everyone for some reason is signed Windows drivers for QXL KVM graphical devices, but one can sign it himself need be.

Open source makes a lot of sense, especially under current circumstances when you can't trust anyone anymore (I mean the USA gov etc). Even if the savings are exactly zero it's still a good move. I imagine this created new jobs fo

As in Apache is an abomination? I do not believe that and Apache has saved our arses over and over since times immemorial. Should've mentioned them, but it was kind of implied.

RH is not 100% open source and I do not think they are angels or anything. They are a big company with their own interests and it so happens that being open source has worked out for them really well. Having said that, because of chance or

RHEL and Fedora are open source products (and this is the sole reason CentOS and ScientificLinux are able to exist). Since Nginx Plus will not be open source I do not see how this is a valid comparison.

I'd optimise that a bit: 1 - try not to use greylisting (it can be quite annoying some time when you are waiting for an important email) 2 - RBLs should be used from within SpamAssassin in such a way that it raises the spam score, not

People seem to think that if you move your domain off GApps you're suddenly going to receive so much spam that your inbox will blow up. This is not so at all. A decent Postfix configuration + up2date SpamAssassin can do wonders. One of
