This is wrong. There is no faster way for preimage attacks with truncated SHA-2. http://crypto.stackexchange.com/questions/9435/is-truncating...

You can also use the Perspectives plugin to have other servers check the certificate. https://perspectives-project.org/

You can increase the rescan interval in the folder settings (advanced settings section). If you use inotify, you can just set it to 0 to disable automatic rescans.

It's weird that bankers never get sued, after causing millions in damage.

In Germany, every citizen is required to give first aid, as long as he doesn't endanger himself. If you don't help, you can get sued. And the law protects first aiders, so they can't usually get sued if they do something wron

Why is the current system in Germany only 30 years old? As far as I know, there weren't any laws changed with the unification (except of unifying Germany of course). So it's really a 70 year old system. Agree with your point thoug

I was in Cuba this January, and I didn't get the feel that this was illegal. We bought the cards on a busy street in Havanna with no problems at all. Also, we paid 2 CUC and were told the official price was 1 CUC.

Napster was centralized, that's why it was taken down. Now we have torrents. When a torrent site is taken down, 10 new ones replace it. I think with projects like Ethereum, IPFS and others, there will be a huge push for decentralizatio

I'm really surprised that Berlin isn't mentioned. Admittedly, I haven't spent much time in other German cities, but Berlin should be the best in cost of living and also in startups.

A public key is pretty long for an address (eg ~500 bytes for RSA-4096). Instead, you can use a hash of the public key for an address. That's what I'm doing for Ensichat [1] [1] https://github.com/Nutomic/ensi

I am currently developing a decentralized messenger that might fit this description. I've developed Ensichat [1] as a messenger that works over Bluetooth and Internet, by sending messages peer to peer. At the moment, I'm adding ad

I wouldn't say that's true. I have an app written in Scala [1], and the apk is just 4 MB. Sure, that's more than a comparable Java app, but many apps reach 20+ MB due to graphics anyway. [1] https://play.google.com

They should follow the user's interest because if they don't users will just leave Bitcoin for another cryptocurrency. Who wants to use a crypto that has 0.50$ fees, and takes hours to confirm a transaction?

On a private network, you can decide who is allowed to mine new blocks (and also their hashrate). This keeps mining costs low, and means your data stays private. And it means you don't rely on Bitcoin (which I guess might be a big plus

If the block size is increased, a lot more transactions will fit in a block, so transactions would get much cheaper. And while it's a great goal to have all monetary transactions use Bitcoin, that is very very far from reality for now.

Debug mode and obfuscation are completely seperate concepts. You can have a debug build with obfuscation or a release build without. Google Play doesn't care if an apk is obfuscated or not.
