The best data to support his assertion is the out of wedlock birthrate. Up until the 60s, in spite of all the horrific racism, the out of wedlock birth rate was still below 20% for african americans. As of 2010, it was 73%. http:/

I think it is the opposite. Star Trek was hopeful in a time when a real threat of nuclear war loomed, Vietnam was showing the horror of war on TV every night, there was civil unrest (both anti war and civil rights), JFK has recently been as

There is some evidence that triclosan, and ingredient in antibacterial liquid soaps, might be an endocrine disrupter. But a regular bars of soap don't contain triclosan, so you can soap up if you want.

It is not true that the revised data showed the opposite of what Reinhard and Rogoff argues for. It just showed it to a much lesser degree. The New Yorker wrote a fair but critical analysis: http://www.newyorker.com/online&#

$69 for internet is the full price, not the promo teaser rate. The promo rate is $34 (see linked image). I don't know if you can get the promo rate if you aren't a new customer though. http://i.imgur.com/dPqlKR2.pn

Can I ask where you live, and how much you pay? In the bay area internet only is marginally cheaper than any bundle. $99 for TV + 25mbps and between $66 for just the 25mbps. Teaser rates are $59 for the bundle, $29 for internet.

Meanwhile, the bill’s momentum has also been sputtering as a result of the trial lawyer bar pressuring other Senate Democrats to slow the bill. This is probably as big or a bigger issue. Leahy may be taking one for the team here.

Fair enough, but AT&T does spend ~1 billion in R&D. Verizon doesn't report their number but supposedly it is less. Innovation isn't just hardware development, and even if they are relying on other companies, they are pushi

A lot more happened than just swapping the box on my desk when Verizon came and installed FIOS. It took innovation to get from the 768kbps DSL line I had to the 50mbps FIOS connection. How much credit Verizon deserves for it, I don't k

Do you have a primary source for the $300 billion tax subsidy claim (which would be an indictment of the telcos if true). Something besides a link to a link to a link to something Bruce Kushnick has claimed? I've read his reports, and

I think that is a good point. The author said he was walking/biking 10k a day, so he probably could use a whole different class for device. For the person who is struggling to get up to 10k steps a day, these devices are useful. I do t

If you are looking at Unity Pro ($1500), and want to publish on iOS ($1500), and Android ($1500) it will cost $4500. You'd need to gross more than $90,000 on your app for the 5% royalty to be more than $4500, and I'd bet a vast ma

Crocs built a billion dollar company on plastic shoes. I think they are actually a foam resin, so you are right about rigid plastic shoes, but a slightly softer more flexible 3d printable material would be practical and useful.
