Turns out you can do what the top comment by chhickman is doing without any addon as well. Follow my steps above in "Edit 2", and add this to your CSS file: @-moz-document domain(news.ycombinator.com) { a:link {

Sorry, yeah, so you meant it'd be nice to have a feature/add-on that overrides the link colouring to be the same on every site. Absolutely. We had that once, in those distant days before CSS... ---- Edit: This works on Firefox: -

It is standard everywhere unless a site explicitly overrides it. For example, do a Google search and click one of the links. Now do the same search again. The link you followed last time is now purple instead of blue. On Hacker News the lin

This is currently the only reply that's downvoted below zero, but this is also the only reply that matches the definition of the phrase as I understood it.

I semi-seriously wonder if they did it because Apple finally decided to increment their number to Mac OS 11. I also wonder if Apple went to 11 because Microsoft got to 10.

I realise this isn't a very helpful comment in itself, but I hope Hacker News comments don't go the way Reddit comments have, where they routinely post and upvote content that's already in the linked article (usually because

The only time I ever notice it is if I'm riding up really close to a curb or something and it feels like it's somehow pulling me in, like there's no way to steer away from it. Intuitively it feels weird, but logically it make

You've misunderstood somewhere. The audience was cheering his rant, and he chides them for it. His message was to not think like the way he was in his rant.

This may have changed in the last few years, but another thing I really liked back when I ran Sailfish, was how even the third-party apps would use the standard UI assets and look/function exactly like native apps. That and the fact th

The list of foods in the article sounds fine for modern tastes (apart from the snails maybe). I'm sure it would have been prepared very differently, but that never stopped us calling things "Chinese food" etc in the west.

You might be looking for a kind of deliberate planned game design that just isn't really there in Minecraft. The world is destructible so why not have a block to blow it up? TNT takes gunpowder to create because why wouldn't it? G

I love the writing style in this essay. It reminded me of George Carlin's "modern man" monologue[1]. [1] https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/25390-i-m-a-modern-man-a-ma...

What I was trying to say is the baby is growing faster. If you stay at average weight throughout your life, like you're tracking along the 50% line on the growth chart, then your fastest weight gain is in your first year. On average th

I'm going by average weight gain from normal growth. But let's look at height instead then. Average height at age 12: 59". At age 13: 62". 3" of growth. At birth: 19". At one year: 29". 11" of growth.

It's not though, that's my point. Even in absolute terms, weight gain from growth in the first year is still more than any other time in the average person's life.
