PHP “Note That”
- monkpit 5y agoI love this fad of posting google results :)
- jdavis703 5y agoOh PHP is why after years of not writing PHP I still have anxiety around when to use the break and continue keywords.
- Minor49er 5y agoA popular language with a lot of documentation and user comments has a lot of instances of a common phrase? Python and Java also have pretty heavy use of the phrase, proportionally speaking (since PHP does have a massive amount of built-in functions): https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdocs.python.org%2F3%2F+"note+that" https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdocs.py... https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdocs.oracle.com%2Fjavase%2Ftutorial%2F+%22note+that%22 https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdocs.or... I find this phrase to be much more fun: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aphp.net+"wtf" https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aphp.net+"wtf"
- cosmotic 5y agoI think the idea is that "note that" doesn't really add much to the thing that follows.

- JohnFen 5y agoI use that phrase all the time in my own comments and docs. When I use it, it's to point out something that I tend to trip up on myself, or something that is not obvious to the casual reader. I regret nothing.
