Personally i dont feel like the flipping head rests provides enough support, to my head at all, and even less enough to support my bosy, so i really think the design here has some merits in this regard!

On vehicles in which you can change the infotainment yeah. But this doesnt really go well for the tesla. In addition, to my knowledge older Volkswagen AG vehicles are ripe for replacing the infotainment with a newer, carplay enabled system,

The only reason the A3 still has a non-touchscreen is due to the fact that it's still running a rather old platform, which is outdated compared to the Golf, Leon -- the new A3 landing this year won't have dials.

In regards to German and otherwise European cars, I've never seen or heard of a modern car operating on anything other than a "high speed" CAN bus, with anything lower than 250Kbit/s and all the way up to 1 Mbit/s.
