Very nice! I've used a spline tool in SolidWorks that I found useful and was hoping to find something outside of solid modeling that was similar and this seems to be it, super intuitive and clean! Probably not the use it was intended

That's a stiff statement that could use support beyond a passing comment on Hacker News. Let's take a few members of the "Intellectual Dark Web"[0] like Bret Weinstein, Sam Harris, and Michael Shermer; I'm truly cu

I use a version* of a net-pot to flush out my sinuses after surfing. If I don't, especially if I surf in a red tide, I get a nasty sinus infection (surfers sinusitis or acute sinusitis). I even had sinus surgery to reduce my turbinat

Good stuff, thanks for the h-index link, I'll take a look. I've seen something similar, SCImago Journal Rank, but I think that is only for the journal, not the individual. I really like the idea of moving away from the idea of a

What would be a components of an "ideal" solution? I'd love to hear improvements or corrections to my assumptions. 1) Free to view all approved papers (possibly run by a non-profit and funded by grants around the world) 2) E

Any chance you can post a link to what you are working on? Does it involve a PageRank like system?

For reference, I was a seasonal firefighter with Cal Fire (CDF at the time) for 6 years. First off, if there is a fire burning on state land, federal land, BLM land, a national forest, a national park, etc. I'd call it a forest fire, i

I don't think climate change is the dominating variable here, like the article describes, the devastating fires are a product of our encroachment into forests and aggressive firefighting practices. If you have some references though,

Unless corrected by additional positional information (GPS, landmarks, etc.) inertial navigation is completely reliant on dead reckoning. Any system that uses this has cumulative error. I'm guessing (like you) that these "quantu

Basically it uses dead reckoning then. Cool stuff! There are other velocimeters, accelerometers, etc. that do that as well, the important part is the amount of error that builds over time. I wonder what this "quantum compass" h

Speaking of Wikipedia articles, have you checked out their "book creator" [0], it's a link on the left of every page? It has some significant issues [1] and as of now can't be used to download pdfs, it seemed to use an

I do upload pdfs including bills and invoices (not paychecks since I don't have a use case for that). My wiki is private so it's only available to me. Plus I have extensions that allow me to render the pdfs nicely and index all

Cal Fire is unionized, Local 2881. When I was a seasonal firefighter for Cal Fire (CDF at the time), every figherfighter had some level of union support, but there was "Full Share" and "Fair Share" options.
