Isn't all this stuff written in C++? I suspect the slowness is bad system design.

Can you point to a single major project that does? AFAIK it always leads significant regressions in real world use cases, which is why no major repo uses them.

Yes!! I would love to work on a startup that creates a new assistant but distribution is not possible at the moment!

Yeah I've been able to kinda muddle my way through but progress is frustrating as I frequently get errors I don't understand. Was thinking maybe I should study compilers a bit and then I will be able to understand the triton sourc

Any recommendations for material to know to do exactly this sort of optimization work (involving triton)? I guess it's a mix of knowing computer architecture and compilers?

This comment is written as if the one it replied to said something wrong. It didn't and this comment does nothing to add to the debate, instead it just obfuscates. Downvoted.

I don't understand why it's a bad idea? Did openai ask for permission for using the data it uses (no)?

This 1000%. It's incredible how just being mediocre leads to so much pain down the road from wasted effort and bad design.

Is this comment speaking from personal experience? Meta pays much more than any other FAANG. E.g. Know someone who's openai offer (2x Google) was matched by meta.

Probably done with meta's blessing. Pretty obvious the scientists wanted to release it and legal stopped them.

The high speed is necessary so the plane doesn’t fall out of the sky. A bullet is going to have a different friction coefficient than a plane so is not as affected by the altitude.

You do the same thing as when checking out any tool/library/whatever: Skim the README, then if still interested jump into a file or two and look at what the code is like. It’s pretty likely - if this person works in the same domai

It existed that way when you yourself were younger and knew less and there were was a high prob that whoever you were talking to could teach you something. teenagers still experience it the same way.
