Hmm - it occurs to me that it would be cool to have modules inside a regular city-simulator like SimCity or CitySkylines such that you can build additional games on top of that engine. A bit like Unity (?) or Roblox (?) Then you could take

This is it. These subscriptions have been heavily subsidized, which was fine when usage was much lower overall. But with so many folks trying to use the tools and soaking up all the chips something has to give. Now we’re going to find out w

Author - I don't think you learned the correct lessons here. The most important thing is that you weren't "ripped off" - you were taken advantage of. Ripped off is when you buy a TV that's supposed to work and it do

The graph should be on a log scale. Inflation earlier from a higher value is magnified relative to inflation later from a lower value.

Indeed! Kinda reminds me of this: https://m.xkcd.com/932/ I'm not a web UI guy either, and I am so, so happy to let an AI create a nice looking one for me. I did so just today, and man it was fast and good. I'

It's not really that people wouldn't come back - it's that they were losing money on each customer. Those 100 videos probably cost $100+ for them to create. Did you pay them $100+? (not a critisism, just a re-framing)

I do not feel that the EU is less likely to surveille me than anywhere else. The laws seem mostly geared toward protecting me from corporations - but those aren't the ones I mostly worry about. The EU seems to be mandating surveillance

"spend our money in our own economy" - a common fallacy about economies. Spending money is how you take/consume resources from an economy. If you spend money in Canada, then you are taking stuff from Canadians. If you spend y

Maybe, but often there's more to the story. I recall when "Israel attacked a hospital in Gaza" became "Hamas launched a rocket at their own hospital" a few days later, when more facts were known.

There is not always a lot more to do. If your business is making typewriters then what? Or you mine coal that nobody wants to use anymore? These companies could spin up entirely new lines of business, but why? It's much better for some
