I see the Ethernet coming first answer in another comment too. Just to be clear, many protocols came before IPv4 that aren't in play. It's not because it came first, it's because they're layered. Why need an IP if you ha

I guess my point is that truly performant python code, at least for number crunching, uses vectorized numpy functions instead of loops, and the overhead on type checking for those is fairly minimal. I have a PR in on a compute heavy python

This is particularly impactful to me. My family was on sprint for so long we had employee discounts. Every so often they'd raise the plan's data cap and cost. Whatever. Eventually they merged. All was fine. Then, t-mobile started

I watched the video right before seeing this post and I wasn't surprised at all. They don't care. AI script, graphics, voice over. There was 0 skin in the game. To paraphrase Michael Scott, if you cancel the channel over fake news

Problem is, it's too late. Most performant code I've seen and written isn't using numba, it's using numpy to vectorize. And sadly, there's a lot of wasted iteration when doing that just to be faster than scaler. My

That's what it looks like. You pay $25 and give your ID (yay more exposure from data breaches wooooo) and then you become verified. That lets your apps get installed. But if you're just installing on your own devices (with ADB), s

Yes this is all anticipated. They're starting to move the money around in circles to keep the bubble inflated. Think of it this way: 10% of AMD value was spent, 23% was gained. In a bit we'll hear of AMD, directly or otherwise, in

I think really the problem is that packages like pytorch take so long to import. In my work I've tried a few packages (not AI stuff) that do a lot of work on import. It's actually quite detrimental because I have to setup enviro

Seems good. Basically follows what we learned in academia. That said, the scheduler part is a bit weird. I guess I understand why a scheduler could be uninitialized, but I don't understand all the wishy washiness around the scheduler p

I find their table of advertised vs actual capacity to be misleadingly negative. They only discharged to 3v. 2.7 could be viewed as more standard. 2.5 is not unheard of. For example, the vapvell 4000 they said was around 3000. They even hav
