While we're talking about Firefox, does anybody feel like it's gotten dog-slow recently compared to Chrome? Testing with the following gist it takes FF 2.7 seconds on my machine for the page to fully load, and only ~400 ms in Chr

It's statically typed and inferred. With regards to your example, the print/printfn (equivalent of Write/WriteLine) functions are a bit funny in F#. They don't actually take bound string values directly. You need to sp

Would you ever consider making a product that emits some level of IR? Or even a very small amount of UV? Would be amazing for the winter months, even if it was just a very small amount.

Interesting! I'll give these a look. Edit: I watched the presentation (which I really enjoyed) and also read the blog post. For anyone with less time, the answer is essentially: don't sync everything, treat the local data like a

Discussion of sync engines typically goes hand in hand with local-first software. But it seems to be limited to use cases when the amount of data is on the smaller side. For example, can anyone imagine how there might be a local-first ver

I see you can @ people. Does that mean you can get notifications when you've been @-ed? Also, is there the ability to comment on documents? For me these are two killer features to leave a Notion or Confluence.

Not to be too much of a recruiter, but I started a software consultancy where we get this kind of work. Typically projects that last a quarter, but with some potential for extending (although they also frequently just last a quarter). I a

All of these projects lack server hardening. I think for most devs it would not be a great idea to just point at a server and let 'er rip. I have a pretty extensive cloud-init script I use for this when deploying to a VPS. I worksho

I'm also a little confused about how to get started. According to the docs you have to embed it into an existing app[0], but the quickstart suggests otherwise[1]. [0] https://lynxjs.org/guide/start/integrate-

I see there's Lynx for Web[0]. Does that also adhere to the two-threads model (one for UI, one for background)? Also, is this something that React/Native may adopt itself one day? Curious to know if this is a technique that may

The author of this website also wrote a fantastic book on functional application architectures. I think everyone can benefit from reading it, even if you're not using a functional programming language. https://pragprog.com&
