The protections are not to protect us from the mice, it’s to protect the mice from us. The value of the mice is in their purity. Imagine basing a 1bn investment in a new drug based on trials that it turned out were tainted because a mouse c

I really like the BBC Sounds app, I know it holds a selection of high quality content that I like, as opposed to a firehose of any old thing like google et al.

I wonder if not having all the bot traffic hitting the application would create savings in resource requirements that would match or exceed the cost of the WAF. I.e. would it pay for its self if you had a lot of bot traffic.

I’ve seen this when googling the numberplate of an old Ferrari. Google knew what model it was and returned results as if I’d searched Ferrari 512 TR or whatever. I was pretty impressed / freaked out at the time.

I had boxes on Rackspace and Linode at 1/10 the price, if anything Linode was better on both uptime and support. At one time Rackspace justifies the price tag, but that’s not been for years now.

I agree. Companies need to find a way to operate within the law, or not operate. Throwing your hands up and saying it’s too hard is not an acceptable answer.

The motivation to comply would come from the risk of having harmful legislation passed if you don't. Zuck either didn't think they'd do that, or didn't care if they did, or thought they'd pass legislation either way

I don’t think the survey takes into account the differing expectations of the buyers of the different brands. Someone buying a Mercedes has different expectations than someone buying a Corola and this would strongly influence issue numbers.

Strange that Toyota were so early with the hybrid cars, the Prius came out over 20 years ago. But they are now behind with full BEV's. Hydrogen just hasn't got the momentum at the moment.

The land that the farmer is claiming subsidies for could be referenced to the land registry as part of the process. Although a lot of farmers rent land to each other so that complicates things a little.
