I would argue that if introspection has such harmful side effects for a person that means the person's mental state was already in an artificial and damaged state. I think in most cases it is better to begin that introspection process

I don't really meditate, but one thing I've found helpful is to make it a point to not purposefully distract myself from mindful thought. The truth is that we all have plenty of time for mindful thinking, even if we don't act

I'd rather have our current lighter, generic HTML spec that can be enhanced by running code in JS than a heavy HTML spec that tries to do everything in pure HTML/CSS just so that way we can avoid running JS by default. The more co

That directory merge issue really was annoying. I had LaTeX installed and it spent a good three hours merging the LaTeX install directory. I restarted the install once because I thought it had gotten hung, but when it happened again after I

I saw it in New York City at Angelika Film Center. ( https://www.angelikafilmcenter.com/ ) Very cute theater with all sorts of obscure foreign films, art films, etc.

I agree with the author's criticism of the movie, but I still personally enjoyed The Imitation Game. It's good entertainment even if it is quite exaggerated and not 100% historically accurate. If it exposes more people to some of

I usually hear people here in NYC refer to it as "One World Trade Center" which at the same time covers its building number in the complex, and the fact that it is a single tower as opposed to two.

One possible fix would be to only allow an account to bind to a device ID if that device ID wasn't already linked to another account. This would prevent you from just fishing through their info by linking your account to random device

I'm trying to imagine what line of thought led to this "authentication" scheme. Surely someone along the way must have realized that this was a terrible idea?

It looks like very few of your photos have captions, meaning that the algorithm doesn't have a lot of text to work with, and among those that do have text there are a few there which contain keywords that are probably heavily waited to

As much as I like this tooling and the features that Heroku offers it disturbs me that I have to pay $15,000 a month to get more than 99% uptime SLA. To me it is unacceptable to see "max 1 hour downtime" and "max 15 minutes d

That demo messed with my eyes. Even though it is interlacing faster than the eye can see for some reason it still felt weird to look at it. Overall, not worth the trouble or the decline in user experience.

In the startup industry you'll find lots of greenfield projects, but very few where working only 4 hours a day is acceptable. Startups tend to need to get a lot of work done, relatively quickly, with a very small team. This is just the

Very nice concept. You should also add the following CSS to the captcha letters: -webkit-touch-callout: none; -webkit-user-select: none; -khtml-user-select: none; -moz-user-select: none; -ms-user-select: none; user-select: none;

This is exactly what I've used the 402 code for. Some API routes are available to all users, but others require paid access. If a freemium user attempts to access API routes behind the "paywall" I return the 402 code.
