Personally I've always favored a JSON HATEOS approach with my API's, where the JSON response contains the actual URL's of the resources referenced, not just URN. Example from one API that I maintain: https://change

Okay that makes sense, sounds like someone at UC Berkley took a risk thinking that auto captioning would be enough but it isn't good enough yet. I hope the auto captions improve over time. I feel like Facebook auto captions are already

I don't think coops are necessarily anti maintenance or investment. Obviously they have to maintain their core business just like any other business. The difference is a for profit company distributes extra profit that they have on top

Yeah I can understand that. Honestly, the non profit / coop thing is just a big part of Austin culture. Not only are food coops a pretty big deal in Austin, but when I lived in Austin even the electricity company that I got my power fr

Yep I wasn't clear. Austin banned some of the wild west behavior of Uber and Lyft, and they refused to follow along with reasonable restrictions and decided to protest by leaving Austin.

They work fantastically. Ride Austin is actually way better than Uber in my opinion. In fact even if Uber and Lyft decided to start following the city regulations and return to Austin I would probably never use either in Austin again, simpl

I'll be really interested in seeing what happens if Uber can't recover from the burn rate and make a sustainable business without self driving. I can see in the best possible scenario we end up with more cities like Austin, Texas

I wonder what the options would even be for investigating for the presence of such neurons in humans. Obviously even if I am donating my brain to science when I die I won't have the fluorescent gene that they used in these mice.

(AWS employee here) First of all I can assure you that Amazon is 100% committed to containers. Amazon's compute strategy is aimed at three levels of abstraction: instances, containers, lambda. All three are equally important to Amazon.

It's useless because a real world application will take some non trivial amount of system resources to actually serve the request and that is going to be the actual bottleneck, not the HTTP module. So for example lets say your applicat

I don't see this as assuming that open source is only Github, its just a matter of practicality. If you want to build a tool that interacts with git repos it is easier to use the Github API than it is to deal with bare git repos, SVN r

Yeah ECS is a pretty much just a dumb layer on top of docker that handles two things: placing your containers onto instances (and restarting them or replacing them if needed), and adjusting the settings on an ELB, or ALB so that the load ba
