> There's really not a reason to ship or index logs. Proper Information Security policy is one very good reason. If a box is compromised, you don't want the logs being tampered with. You ship the logs to a central, dedicated se

You then (maybe) have a product...but no ecosystem. You can't just convince an entire industry to switch tomorrow and you've just sunk $30m+ into a "maybe".

Unfortunately, it varies wildly. Some firms can perform fully automated remote scans for a few hundred $$$ and it can move all the way up to 100+ page reports with manual pen testing for literally hundreds of thousands of dollars. What you

That's true however an external party might still be sending the bad advertisements that cause the issue. IBM can't really fix that.

Sessions on mobile networks can last for many days and even weeks. The data is far from useless and could be used to enhance or append to other data sources.

Are you comparing a can of Coke to a medical device? It's surprising that I need to say this but the economies of scale are completely different.

All three of your numbers are purely hypothetical and are likely out by one or two orders of magnitude. My point is that people saying that it is overpriced don't understand the input costs of medical devices.

It's not $11,000 for a plastic valve. It's $11,000 for a plastic valve and the many thousands of hours of R&D, testing, validation, certification and risk.
