It's just poorly coded and doesn't take advantage of the CPU power on hand. A lot of games are like that, both indie and AAA.

Zork's (and text adventure games in general) maps aren't grid-based, so you don't need graph paper.

32K I think for the first game. The TRS-80 and Apple II versions at least.

Thunderbird is not native. It's built on top of Firefox. As such, it's not that different from an Electron app.

No, it doesn't. It uses the regular LLVM compiler.

A simple 3d viewer should just use WebGL. Low level APIs are targeted at large game engine developers.

For something like RimWorld WebGL 1 should be more than enough, no? I don't think it's doing anything complex graphically. As a bonus, you'll be able to run on a lot more devices.

If it was that bad, why was it ported back to the Amiga in this project?

That's nice in theory. What happens in the real world is more like 'make it work, ship it'. Sometimes the first part is optional.

Unity and Godot are not C# engines like this one. They are C++ engines with C# scripting.

Small cores are much smaller, so the question is more "why have 4 small cores and 4 big cores when you could have 5 big cores".

You mean one less cycle? I think that was only ever the case in the 8088 with its 8-bit bus.

So why not use a different compiler?

> It would be more helpful for the compiler to assume that it does not know what will happen. This is how C actually worked for many years. Can't you get that behaviour with -O0 or similar?

That's a non-issue. You just need a QWERTY layout. Most OSes make it very easy to change on the fly.

I'm assuming you're talking about PS4 and Xbox One. If so, they used a much simpler and lower-power architecture than Bulldozer that was initially intended for netbooks and tablets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki&#x

That requires TPM v2 and UEFI. I guess that's why I've never seen it in any of the Windows machines I have access to.
