Got the dates mixed up. Apparently they cancelled his passport on the 22nd, after which he departed. As to whether the cancellation catalyzed the flight to Moscow with help from HK is another question.

Would a runtime binary checksum have helped to complicate such modification? This isn’t sop for mobile apps? Do iOS or Android SDK’s provide such facilities? Presumably associated with the official release process and enforced on their resp
