Wait until you try refactoring in Go. Java has plenty of warts, but the explicit inheritance in it and other languages makes working across large codebases much simpler when you need to restructure something. Structural typing is surprising

My hot take on context is that it's secretly an anti-pattern used only because of resistance to thread locals. While I understand the desire to avoid spooky action at a distance, the fact that I have to include it in every function sig

Previously it could be anything you wanted. These days, you need formal approval. Google has changed a bit.

I can't think of a major phone brand that hasn't had some kind of major issue over the years. The batteries of the Note 7, iPhone "antenna gate" (and the more recent lack of advertised AI debacle), etc. How would you say

You should really try some of the LLMs made by companies in China. Then ask about a culturally sensitive topic the Chinese government would prefer you didn't discuss. Offline of course. Humans are still responsible for the content that

Almost every citation here is research funded by a party selling something that just happens to be AI/ML. And they all have glowing reviews of their own products. Color me skeptical. The last, and perhaps somewhat respectable study sur

It's more like duct-taping a VR headset to your head, calibrating your environment to a bunch of cardboard boxes and walls, and calling it a holodeck. It actually kinda works until you push at it too hard. It reminds me a lot of when I

Outside the US, and a handful of other countries, Android is far more dominant than iOS (75% vs 25%). [1] WhatsApp has an estimated active userbase of approximately 3 billion. [2] The number of iMessage users is estimated to be about 1 bill

Don't worry; they'll have plenty of time to regret that. There's a reason they're sweating the data issue. As much as it sucks to say it, Google/Bing/Meta/etc. all have a shitton of proprietary human-gen

I think the problem is "but why?" What incentive would they have when they just need a brief answer or solution, i.e. just make code do this, get the boss their answer on that, etc.? It's going to be fun when LLM agents do al

Nonsense. We just need...about 10-15 USB-C laptop charging blocks rated at 100W each. I'm sure can find a 1:10 USB charge splitter (heck, maybe we just need to get creative with a few 1:4s) on Temu. What could possibly go wrong?

Couple this with regular threats and fear mongering about AI coming for the jobs of tech workers, and the picture gets even more somber. The tech industry wants to cheapen labor.

I admit I don't find it practical to hold. Part of today's shapes are to make it easier to grip, hold at an angle, etc. The metal body is neat and probably super durable, but I imagine that glass won't last long if it slips.
