strobing bike lights are also a horrific health/pain hazard for people who get migraines or have light-triggerable epilepsy. I really wish they'd be banned from sale :(

The phosphoric acid - vomit thing is a factoid. Trivially, consider that you can just eat pure sugar and not vomit. Also, a glass of orange juice is about 1tbsp of sugar away from coke.

I haven't been able to make it in a while, but I really liked Tech Startups In The Pub [0], for a social meetup -- just heed the rule! (no pitches) [0] https://www.meetup.com/tech-startups-in-the-pub-relaxed-netw...

What's the frame rate of a zoetrope, a 1920's silent film, Charlie Chaplin's greatest works, Eraserhead ? Not all art is still. So, why the snark?

On the low framerate: why get a pi5 when a Jetson Nano could be had for about the same price?

The missus and I would benefit from this -- I even got part way into my own Flutter app of similar functionality: she does shift work and I have to travel a lot. We're often not at home at the same time (or one of us is sleeping). Thin

This never made sense to me. What "feels" special about 32, or 98, or 212? If anything this argument is way more applicable to Celsius (0 noteworthy, 100 noteworthy). I once read that it had to do with making a calibrated scale (d

Out of curiosity, would you mind sharing some of those potentially better programs? I've also been trying to compile a thourough list, but the options don't seem better (in fact, all are plan B..Z) e.g. Entrepreneur First ( esp

I'm so happy to see this - the enshitification of housing worldwide (but especially in London, looking at you Royal Wharf) has been on my mind for ages. I'd love to see 'architectural beauty' be regulated. Unfortunately,

I'm reminded of that ever-poignant SMBC comic [0] on architects' love of brutalism. Sure you may like it, but we (the poors) have to live/work in it. [0] https://www.smbc-comics.com/?id=3545

I'm in the same boat and feel like this is the only logical approach. Such a potential timesink for such low odds. I think the effort should be somewhat symmetric: spend as much time as YC will in reviewing. Especially without feed bac

I've been feeling this way for a while: that Raspberry Pi lost its way, in pursuit of specs over cheap. I've been very surprised to not see other people discussing it.

Dovecots [0] have been used for (likely) millenia. And, because of migration, the birds can ultimately bring nutrients in from disparate locations - as opposed to purely localally grazing livestock. Per leathers: one, we don't have to

I find it far more frustrating the shift to half-sized arrow keys - when the space is also clearly already there. The r-shift key could be chopped up, or removed entirely, to accommodate a full-sized up-arrow.
