Mining and shipping is required for all forms of energy. Of course it's gonna be per twh because that is the only way to measure that makes any sense. Kurzgesagt has a great video explaining everything here: https://www.yout

France is absolutly filled to the brim with Nuclear power and have not had any problems. No one is building RBMK reactors so unless you build a NPP in an area which is at risk of tsunamis any accidents wouldn't really cause any major d

That's not really true. Nuclear kills about as many as RE https://ourworldindata.org/safest-sources-of-energy

Not really, Nuclear is the only clean non-intermittent energy source that is also fossil free available.

Well they're not building an RBMK reactor so Chernobyl is not really relevant since they are totally different type of NPP

Great, we really need a way to produce massive amounts of green energy.

All current wind or solar plants require gas or some sort of grid backup.

Because the amount of overcapacity needed both in terms of capacity and production will never be economically feasible compared to building a SMR grid. Also if we are to reach negative CO2 emissions it makes more sense to choose nuclear due

Wind and solar can't power civilization alone. You need either Nuclear or fossil to provide the baseload.

Batteries are not feasible economically or capacity wise.

They should focus their efforts on Nuclear. That's the only viable option for green energy production that can power their massive industry and 1.3 billion population.

Except they'll ditch natural gas for nuclear

Renewable energy sources needs to be supported by power plants that can produce constantly. The only clean option is nuclear and hydro. Sweden has developed a safe storage which is used to stored used fuel.

Well yeah but the problem is that since energy production needs to be constant, the only real alternative to nuclear is coal, gas or hydro. Nuclear and hydro is the only option that doesn't lead to extinction due to global warming

Coal is the most deadly form of energy production. It's cause thousands of germans to die prematurly each year It's time for germany to stop relying on coal and open up to nuclear like France and Sweden https://ourworld

Well this wouldn't be a problem if you didn't shutdown your nuclear power plants. Now Germany is polluting more than ever.

Won't really make any environmental difference since they'll have to produce more energy. Since germany utilizes gas and coal you will basically shift to that from petrol since they shutdown their nuclear power plant
84.
▲

Well since Germany uses coalpower, it will make the environmental gain pretty much non-existent.

The average person could not possibly make an informed decision in this referendum, because it affects every area of every part of the brittish society. On top of that it has been proven that the leave campaign lied and broke the law regard
