This happens all the time when a website serves malware through ads. The site will claim it isn't their fault, they aren't the ones serving the ads. And then they have the audacity to try and shame people for using adblockers.

I've been using DDG as my primary search engine for around a year now. I've kind of gotten a feel for the kind of searches I do that DDG doesn't handle very well. It's good for probably 95% of my searches but I still occ

I read RPS nearly daily for around a decade but I stopped when they started blocking me for using an ad blocker. I miss The Flare Path (and Tim Stone's other articles) but the quality of writing had dropped quite a bit elsewhere. Most

There is the approach Samsung is taking with LinuxOnDex. My Note9 runs Android but I can plug it into a monitor, mouse, and keyboard and boot up a Linux environment. It's still a bit rough since it runs in a container on top of Android

I don't even bother clicking on most news links anymore. I follow a Reuters RSS feed for business and market news and a few NPR feeds for general news. Over the past couple or years I've lost a lot of faith in most of the major ne

I was kind of surprised that it didn't already operate on a whitelist. It seems irresponsible to market user generated content to kids without checking that the content is suitable for them.

I always find it a bit disingenuous when someone who has already made tens of billions of dollars on capital gains and wouldn't be affected as much by an increase in the tax calls for it. Would the Bill Gates that had a net worth of $1

The release of the Glock 22 predates the release of the Glock 20, but going by their naming convention the Glock 20 was patented first. It's possible they modified the 20 but I believe it was the 17, I would have to check the book wher

Yes, in the late 80s/early 90s 10mm was chosen by the FBI because 9mm ammo at the time had a tendency to under-penetrate (not an issue in the present day, 9mm today performs significantly better than 9mm 25 years ago). The story of the

There will always be a market for "non-streaming" games. Fighting games for example would be unplayable with streaming latency. I don't see games moving primarily to streaming for a long time.

A forced arbitration clause was included by my realtor in all the paperwork I filled out when buying a house last year. I didn't sign that page and nobody brought it up again.
