You could boot from a liveCD or some other read-only media. Your files could live on a server you trust, accessed only by encrypted means that you trust haven't been modified because your machine is read only. You have to trust somethi

If you did that you would have a huge relative velocity to the Lagrange point. You'd shoot right past it unless you could kill all your relative velocity, which would mean you would have enough delta-v to achieve orbit anyway.

Does this even matter? Transmission to the end user is not the weak point in Google's data privacy policies.

Mr. Musk seems to have a habit of publicizing his back-of-the-napkin calculations. "Based on the Model S track record so far, you have a zero percent chance of being hurt in an accident resulting in a battery fire." It seems to ha

That's a lean startup. They probably had the quickest time-to-MVP as anyone.

This would be a great place to bootstrap a startup. Cheap rent, this sauce is great on ramen, and the smell would make it so only the most dedicated co-founders who really love their product can stand to work on it. Almost zero distractions

Acer chromebook. I paid $199 for mine. They just released a new version so the previous should be cheaper now. With nitrous.io, you will be able to do everything you list. With an installation of chrouton, you can do anything you want, loca

I wonder if Moore's Law will proceed in a similar fashion as it did with traditional computers. Now, quantum computers are so expensive that only the government and large corporations can afford them. How long until the BBQ-Micro?

I think most people would say yes to about 90% of these items. If some of them were marked "privately owned", I would vote "no" on a few, like prisons. Time to see who of my facebook friends are libertarians.

It's well known that POS also means "piece of shit". I'm not sure how open it is for disruption, nor if it really is enough of a pain point to be worth replacing. Google has tried with Google Wallet, but who uses that? O

I have the same setup on mine. Aside for a weird trackpad grounding issue that sometimes messes up the screen after extended two finger scrolling while on battery power, it is really nice. I just have to touch the VGA port every few minutes

I think the backspace key would be the best key to try to find a reference for. It is often pressed multiple times in a row and would allow for recognition of common typos.

As an owner of an Intel Chromebook, the Acer C7, I really do enjoy it. It is a bit limited, but for $200, it is a great deal. I have a chroot installed where I can do anything I can't do with the vanilla ChromeOS, and I am strongly con

I would recommend GAE. It is a pretty good fit for what you are describing, and best of all, it has a very reasonable free tier that never expires. I have only ever used python on GAE. PHP at the moment only accepts whitelisted applications

As dschleef said, the epoch span is one day. You will notice that dist_1_v1 is less than dist_0_v1. This fixes the problem you noticed, leading to a reasonably correct, shrinking value for the distance between Voyager and the Earth.
