Fun that they had an octopus playing a piano. I made the same thing the old fashioned way. Mine can actually play though. https://twitter.com/LeapJosh/status/1423052486760411136 :P

Neat tech coming out of the UE world. I made something similar for the weird Lovecraftian text editor I'm making. My goal's to eventually let people fill a wasteland with flora by doing creative writing around it. Mine's more

Code that serves as a highway I try to make as clean as possible. Code that serves as a cul-de-sac just has to work.

The consolation is that, if I remember correctly, docx is just a zip file containing xml. I made an xlsx exporter in actionscript3 (lol) years ago and it worked like this. What I ultimately did was made a "template" document, and

Signed distance fields _are not that bad_ (thank you Inigo Quilez) Once you have your primitives, it becomes basic math and union, subtraction, intersection for the most part. I made this shader a few days after learning the basics -> h

It's a shame filter: custom() died. It would be easier to skip shader-like and just go right to shader.

Answering "why use maya instead of blender?" is more challenging to answer than it used to be. Replace maya with zbrush / houdini and it's easier to answer but gets harder every update. I say this with a decade of unity

I've been working on a 3d first person creative writing RPG where you're a Tentacle Monster with a magic mechanical typewriter. You learn ritual magic based on what you write and it can export .txt files. It even has printer "

Thank you. I'm deliberately going to be readonly (and most likely only filenames unless the user requests contents) When I'm walking around the filesystem. Thank you for the info.

I've been wondering about this -- I'm making a text editor RPG, and in the medium term I want to make a file picker that builds a procedural dungeon based on your file system. I know such a thing would have been trivially fine in

If I may, I'd like to mention a text editor that I am making as an example of relevant skeuomorphism. It's called Tentacle Typer. It makes regular ol' .txt files in mostly the traditional way, but you write text documents as

This is cool. I could see myself adding support for this in Tentacle Typer. It's a text editor with a similar just-save-plain-text philosophy, main difference is that it has more tentacles. Giving a tentacle a paint brush for mid text
