Normally it’s not a problem if one person needs 10 packs of toilet paper. Many folks who live far away from a Costco or any other store make quarterly trips and fill a trailer. I have relatives in Wyoming that travel hours to do this. Busin

I’ve only ever flown into Gatwick and it surprises me that they haven’t expanded it with the aim of taking more business from Heathrow. If you’re operating as a transit hub, it doesn’t matter that you’re a train ride away from London. The n

Hehe. The comparison is both amusing and apt. I’m often in the “executive” position in this scenario and this barrier between the angry team/customer/partner and the people doing engineering work really pays in spades. The people

This has worked pretty well for me and my own weight loss (and maintenance) journey. When I eat outside of my own 9-10 hour window it usually ends up as a meal that I overindulge in and subsequently regret. As more anecdata, I find myself v

I can think of two examples. In LA there are busways that are built on former train paths. When they need to divert for whatever reason (road repairs, special event routes, etc) they can just make a turn and act like any other bus. Somethin

This is what I do. Not sure if it’ll work for this case, but my primary reason was to remove a single point of failure from my “banking architecture” and avoid the headaches publicized by people on HN that lost access or to their only bank.

Not a googler, but at my company this has not been the case. We use several programming languages and some of the people driven choices (rather than technical necessities) have lead to all the languages being twisted into an odd hybrid of t

As a practical matter that’s true if the body generates lift. F1, Indycar, and Prototype sports cars go faster and weigh between 700 and 900kg depending on the series and spec. Since they’re designed to generate downforce when going forward

As someone who’s helped on both the technical and hiring side of a company that’s scaling, I agree and will add that a lot of hires are made in order to make life easier for existing hires. A team completely composed of 1:1 developer to tea
