Your brain can also do 1+1 and end up with 2.5 or even 3 in the brain :) I have really bad eye sight on both eyes, one can not see enough alone but both together see much better than I would expect on the same distance.

A lot of people are used to the extra salt in cheap food. If restaurant food isn't salty enough, they will complain. Chefs are just adjusting to what their most vocal customers complain about. My co-workers are from the whole spectrum.

The bandwidth market is very different between EU and USA, maybe they weren't prepared for the much higher prices in USA? I'm pretty used to having a 100 Mbps connection to our servers that we can use without any strings attached.

A strong opinion does not have to be about what tech stack to use for best results, that depends on the goal. It could also be a few notches above the actual tech. My strongest opinion would be about the usability of what I'm creating,
