Meanwhile a job recently told me they are on IBM AS400 boxes “because Postgress and other sql databases can’t keep up with the number of transactions we have”… for a company that has a few thousand inserts per day… Obviously not true that t

Caddy, Nginx, Traefik seem to be the most popular reverse proxies in the self hosting/homelab communities. I definitely prefer Caddy in my experience, so far.

I’m getting sick of the number of links submitted to HN blasting me with cookie spam bullshit.

Is there a reason you literally simulate a click event on the form instead of calling submit() on it?

Nuxt has always been a strange tool that doesn’t really fit well into any good use case, unless your only experience is Vue and Nuxt. Hard to see the real reason for Vercel to do this. The pessimist in me wonders if perhaps they are hoping

Are you sure the others use Squirrel? After it’s maintainer decided to crash out and abandon multiple libraries including Squirrel, I was under the impression it was abandoned?

But why can the canvas still only be accessed in the main thread? Why introduce a whole other API as a workaround for this? Also, as far as I have seen, people have been using WebAssembly for complex stuff and marshalling it to the main t

The last time I read any updates on this, everyone on both sides of the legal process were trying to single out scapegoat individual software engineers and rake them over the coals. Did something change?

I’m imagining a really, really, really rough ride for this. I don’t mean the compiler, tsc CLI, or VS support. I know the TypeScript team will have already competently done their side of the story. I think that as usual, it’s going to be th

Sounds annoying. I have posted several examples on the R3F Discord of broken sandboxes but no one wants to fix them so I stopped bothering. All the broken ones I saw were weird things like model/asset files just not being there at all.
