But I thought one of the points of latex was to emit pdf files? Are you saying these places are so backwards they only accept latex and word files? What stops them being edited by someone?

I don't think advent of code meets most peoples definition of a hackathon.

by MortyWaves 1y ago
The only hackathons I've been part of were internal ones at a single job. Complete waste of time as the shit executives had already decided who the winners should be. So disheartening to see people deliberately misunderstanding our pre

I completely agree with you but I also think, like many aspects of "tech" certain segments of it have been monopolised and turned into profit generators for certain organisations. DevOps, Agile/Scrum, Observability, Kubernete

Absolutely incredible how dense HN can be and that no one has explained. Obviously that isn’t what they are saying, they are saying it’s profoundly stupid to have the server be controlled by a simple string search at all.

For future reference which WD drives are actually suitable for NAS? I remember someone saying you need to look for a specific more expensive type.

That was a great read. This is what I hope to achieve too. I know what you mean about some crops that won’t grow at all, for me, it’s carrots. They are never more than a couple of centimetres long. Deeply frustrating. I’ve tried lots, inclu

What surprising timing! I have started making a bookmarks page on my personal site and soon realised that any papers I linked to would need to deal with this. I couldn’t find a reliable answer so decided I would simply have authors listed i

Where do you buy videos from? Do you mean new films and shows? How, I thought practically all of it is locked down DRM only streaming? Or do you mean DVD/BluRay?
