Easy there tiger! None of what you mentioned is dedicated note taking apps, though they of course might be used for the purpose. The "I don't know anyone who use is so it doesn't exist" argument doesn't really hold. The only time I've heard

I very much agree that currently there is no heavy competition to MS Office. However, I think there is an interesting scenario that during the coming years, tablets and laptops might converge, into "convertible laptops" such as the Asus Tra

Those numbers tell how many people have bought the apps, not how many actually uses it. I have all 3 on my iPad, but apart from some early playing around, I've not used them. On paper, it's a great idea, and they are very nicely made. Howev

There is actually a huge amount of OneNote users out there. For note taking apps, it usually comes down to Evernote or OneNote.

There is unfortunately also the problem of too many "best practices", that gets popularized, dogmatized and horribly misused.

Skype outsourced it's development to Estonian developers, which as we know went very well. Though it's a prevalent opinion on HN, outsourcing is not inherently bad for a startup. What matters it the quality and the skills of the people, loc

McConnel makes a pretty convincing case in "Rapid Development" that long hours by programmers, are counter-productive. After a quite short span of overtime (a week or two), where development speed is increased by a relatively short amount,

Me too. I was really hoping for an app that could take a scan of a handwritten diagram / mockup, and "recognize" the shapes, converting them into objects that could be manipulated (resized, removed, repositioned etc) through the app.

I'd think it might be the line "However, I do not believe you should profit off the content of others.". That's a blanket statement which probably has been misinterpreted as you being against any form of distributor or reseller business mod

Development processes very similar to todays "agile" family, existed back in 1970. "Evolutionary prototyping" for example (a member of the "prototyping" process-family), is one of the precursors for todays agile practices.

The term "waterfall" wasn't coined by Royce in his paper. His paper was a set of suggestions to improve what later became generally known as the waterfall process.

The paper you and "gujk" are referring to, I believe must be Winston Royce's paper. It's wrong to say that the paper is a description of how not to do software development. Rather, it's suggestions for a set of improvements to the process
