A machine like that runs vim/emacs perfectly, I don't see the problem. And for compiling you can use build farms if you're serious. We're getting way to used to our shiny modern toys to realise that it doesn't ta

Honestly, while people have all the rights to not like something, I don't see the point in "censoring" satires or juvenile projects. It gives me a bad vibe, what's next? Gonna shut down anti-X projects? (Where X stands f

The opinion I have of my own country, I admit, is overly critical, however all I stated here is mostly "objective" facts (as far as objective I can be, which is still biased). And yes, if you travel in the north-center as a touris

As an Italian, I don't agree. But that's for Italy, we're corrupt and we always bend rules. Currently living in The Netherlands and things are very different here. Also Belgians and Germans are very strict, from what I heard.

I'm sorry but you forgot the other side of the coin there. I am Italian (living abroad now though) and until last year I had been traveling a lot across Italy. Trains are a joke in Italy, every Italian person would be able to tell you

I can't wait for the time when a new super intelligent alien race comes on earth and exterminates us all because to them we look just like a bunch of lichens under a rock. That's definitely the way to go.

I'm not sure where all the bitterness comes from but obviously I'm not comparing an amateurish attempt at optimizing a terminal-based snake game written in Pascal to the genius of Carmack, those are two entirely different things.

Although to be honest, after the first few changes to readme/documentation[.] there really isn't much more left to update. And the actual maintainer of the repo has the final say on deciding what will and will not be pulled in. If

What do you mean? You are the repo owner and you set up issues with a specific value, then whoever submits a pull request (merged) for those issues automatically gets paid. Or maybe I didn't properly understand how it works?

I hadn't thought about this... but honestly a simple solution would be to let the repo maintainer decide how much to give for each commit in a scale of importance. You can't obviously measure it on number of lines changed or somet

I think this is genius. Call me naive but this is a really nice idea. Reminds me of flattr except it's automated. The idea of having bounties to various project issues and setting up a commit/pull-request payout could be a real in

This reminded me of a game programming hack I did back in highschool. I had just started a school course on Pascal and decided to code a small game of snake, just for fun. I knew very little about actual programming, I was a real novice. Th
