Thonny isn’t just for beginners - it’s also really nice for working with little boards like the Raspberry Pi Pico!

I switched to Fastmail and love it, for business and personal. It’s so easy to add/filter/map/organize many domains/aliases per account.

In this context, I’m pretty sure it’s In-Ear-Monitors; or, the headphones that go in your ear. I’d also disagree that there’s no difference between price/quality of monitors!

I use Consul Connect + Traefik annotations, and am planning to write about it soon. If you want a sneak peak, I'm happy to screen-share the config to get you going, ping me at the email in my profile!

Great post - I hadn't heard of Nomad Pack, and I have a small-ish deployment of ~20 nodes. There are many reasons to love Nomad, like its straight-forward architecture, how it plays well with other binaries to augment its functionality

C++, Lua, and JavaScript all have had improvements in their readability over the years. I don’t write much Haxe at all, but have followed it for a while. It’s such an ambitious project, even featuring over the years at least 2 different VMs

This was my experience... 1. Read first sentence, Take a look at the source code of this page - I rely mostly on CSS for the rendering of this article. 2. Right click, "View Page Source" on Firefox (`84.0.2 (64-)bit)`)

Hey just wanted to pop in and say that the project is great, and the code-base is really well structured and easy to follow. I dig the Lua plugin support via sol, too!

Certainly depends on how you use it. If you plan accordingly and the data fits a compatible partitioning strategy, things work out well and costs can be manageable/predictable.

One of the benefits of open-source is that you can ensure a copy of the source exists, in the event that something makes the original source disappear.

I’d definitely prefer a build-level option. Some of us are working with some internal systems that haven’t (yet) been embraced by the loving arms of automation.

Sometimes, though, an infrastructure team will want to manage the service internally, even if a managed service (e.g. GKE) is available and compliant with the workloads, and would reduce overhead.

Really cool, thanks for sharing. You all might want to look at Apache Calcite ( http://calcite.apache.org/ ) as well for inspiration, which has similar functionality as a subset of its features!

Mixed reviews from me on GCP. Some of their services don’t offer many of the network controls that you might expect. IIRC network rules with cloud functions and managed database services were a painpoint for a pet project of mine. Whereas w
