Well, we're talking Xeon E5. I frankly don't care if your stuff is 20% faster because I would pay at least 5 times the amount I do now on GCE and the hosts are not under my control. I could get 8 more cores for the price of one of

Almost none. Put CoreOS on both, pull yourself a HA database and install Rancher which creates a ipsec network overlay (both hosts), set up your containers on both hosts, set up HAProxy on both hosts (configuration is done only once), then

Hahaha. Meanwhile I've been running 2 machines with Skylake and a combined 24 cores/48 threads, 256GB DDR4, 6x512G SSDs, unmetered 1Gbit/s public and 2,5Gbit/s internal for over half a year for a combined $150 total, in

I'm not sure how this is "needed" just because it is possible. Setting up a small headless git server takes 2 minutes without sharing your code with every intelligence agency on the planet.

I assure you that if you found that box sitting there and called 911 and they sent someone out to check it out, no one would ever question the legitimacy of your call. You seem to be forgetting where this box was located. The bad sign desig

A box sitting completely by itself in a public street connected to a street light, with an unprofessional sign on it? Hell yeah! Every 12 year old could build that box, print the sign and connect it to the street light. And thousands of peo

The three exclamation marks in "Do not unplug!!!" made me suspicious immediately. I know this is kinda funny coming from a German but seriously, the department of homeland security can't type properly? I would've called

There are in fact some ways.. 1) Measure power draw from the car battery (not 100% conclusive probably but a 24-hour measurement might be) 2) Get a 20$ RTLSDR stick, drive somewhere remote with no cell coverage and watch for the tracking de

Yes, start meditating. Meditation is scientifically proven to make use of your neuroplasticity, improve it and rewire your brain. I am diagnosed ADHD-PI and meditation over time corrected my symptoms to a level at which I function completel

I'm sorry but you're comparing apples and bananas here, friend. I'm pretty sure you're not being prescribed psychedelics or tripping off of your adderall. The mechanisms behind psychedelics are very poorly understood, as
