Cool! So do I, from 1969, in my high school electronics class and it still works too. It's for a variable audio oscillator that rises and is re-set by a micro switch. I tuned it with a precision trim pot, to sound "like" a th

What acid did you use, when I etched my first board in 1969, I used Ferric chloride (that stuff stains everything!) and an aluminum pie plate, it worked fine, no reactions at all, other than slowly etching my copper circuit board.

I don't need to read the article, it's well established that the average person acquiesces to perceived authority most of the time when they encounter it. I figured it out in 1977 working for a private telcom company in Santa Clar

That's the calm Caver mentality, without it one could perish during unanticipated events. Years ago, 8 of my friends had just entered a cave for a multi hour exploration/survey trip when an accidentally kicked boulder fell, blocki

Your broad generalization doesn't work with Caving though, this thread is specifically about cave exploration and Victorian alpinism wasn't about that at all, it was a frivolous "sport" of the times. They weren't su

There are several types of people who visit caves. Tourists, who visit "show caves", caves made reasonably safe for average people to visit. Spelunkers are average untrained people who on a lark, go into a "wild" cave se
