I've never used Netflix, so I've no idea what the comparison means. I'm assuming there isn't a subscription fee to access free podcasts, though.

Although I like the control and portability of having my own domain, as a less technologically-proficient user on a shoestring budget, I've found it more challenging to set up and configure on shared hosting services. There's a ne

Individuals who run their own business are far more vulnerable to the harm form GDPR than well-resourced enterprises are. And as an individual consumer, I'm comfortable in saying that it is a really not great law for me (ie, YMMV). It&

This proposal has a very French flavour to it. Hopefully it won't affect us in the UK, but my fear would be that it leads to more walls being put up around content and services for EU Internet users, as has happened with GDPR.

Not bad for general queries, but still not suited to specific, local and timely queries - at least, in the UK, anyway. Even whilst searching with country-specific settings, most results tend to be American. Also, I miss pagination of result

I dislike the way fledgling projects don't provide any details about pricing. Even if they haven't figured out the model they want to go with, just a simple statement saying as much is helpful and transparent.

I don't think that's too unreasonable. I only spent a short amount of time with iOS, but I soon gained the impression that it was unintuitive and that there was perhaps an emphasis on superficially clever stuff at the expense of k

I returned to Macintosh in 2015 after a 15-year hiatus, buying a late 2013 MBP. Having seen the absolute abortion of a device in the most recent MBP line-up and the glaringly obvious neglect of the platform, I feel like I've swapped on

Some people seem to be missing the context of my point, so I'll re-state that I'm struggling to think of any UK-based business or important organisation that relies on .EU. Non-UK users of .EU aren't germane to the issue here

Well, the EU aren't leaving the EU, are they? So far as I'm aware, no local government in the UK uses .EU as they're on the .GOV.UK SLD.

I struggle to think of any business or important organisation that relies on .EU for its identity and operations - the only ones I've seen use it are political campaigns. Presumably the answer is to just use a proxy register based in t

There's a whole 'sub'-culture around very young (as in, pre-teenage) toy and unboxing vloggers who have got themselves (and/or have been enabled by parents) on to this YouTube production treadmill (not exclusively YT, bu

I'm a bit wary of some of the suggestions here. I'm a similar position to you (at least, when it comes to maths). The difference for me is that I'm fairly certain that I'm one of the least accomplished people responding

It wasn't the comment about banking itself, but invoking the (debunked) trope about the Rothschilds that I took exception to.

I was expecting to see some mention about the Russian government's public reaction to such a move. It has the appearance of both a snub to Russian culture and pride, and further encroachment of Western institutions.
