GoT isn't an edge case - it's actually quite quick for an adaptation.

The reality is that almost no adaptations happen until ten years after a book is published. Virtually never.

Given the continued mismanagement of the IA I would put decent money on that not happening actually.

You absolutely can't because neither company does it.

Seems fine as long as the same is done for apps from Google Play too. Which of course it isn't.

There was about eight years between Terrahawk's failure and the BBC deciding to repeat Thunderbirds to great success so the two things are probably unrelated.

Yes, they are. This competition means an enormous boom in quality content has been produced that would have never existed otherwise because of the competition. Choices are great and have resulted in far better services.

No it isn't, the competition is great and is lowering prices across the board, and no arbitrary censorship exists. The desktop games market is much heathier and less dangerous for users than the mobile app market.

You don't like it, but that doesn't make it absurd. It is how every country in the world operates with sites coming into their borders. The IA doesn't geofilter it's availability, and therefore it is subject to the laws

It is worth noting this is a US only oddity. In almost every other country in the world libraries do pay a royalty to lend books. It's notable that the IA service was not geofiltered to the US only.

This is pretty common FWIW. Google revokes attestation keys for Android hardware a lot, especially Widevine Level 1 keys. Ten years into that, the public doesn't seem very excised about it.

This scoring is awful. Literally what you have done here is incentivise sites from well funded bad actors, or sites that push more elaborate scams on elderly people. A plausible and sustainable funding model is a good sign for sites.

One of the reasons Google Image Search is so neutered is because it was sued and lost. Small extracts or low quality assets are usually permissible, full on scraping is not.
