Im like 80% sure Scottish notes are not Legal tender even in Scotland. Legal tender has a fairly narrow definition. They are accepted, and legal, but not 'legal tender'... Well that was my understanding at least. There is also no

Yes, I'd say considering Uber in the UK has been force to start paying minimum wage and giving paid holidays to its drivers I imagine they think the same is very likely for Deliveroo.

Maybe you should actually read things before jumping to conclusions.

I don't care if its Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music or some new competitor. But if they get more expensive they will not win people over.

Its not about it being free online, its about discovery. Spotify is currently excellent for discovering new bands. TPB? Not so much.

Right, but the money has always gone to a middleman, be it record companies or Spotify. If Spotify gets any more expensive I can guarantee people will go back to privacy, music will become less accessible and those niche bands that Spotify

Thats the stupidest idea ever. No thank you. I do not want to work till 70 and I am sure no one else does either. VAT is there for everyone, you can't avoid it because you are a 'creator' thats insane.

I had my first jab yesterday in London, I am (just) under 30 so I was surprised to be offered it, but I went along anyway and it was very well organised. In an out in 5 mins, the vaccines were being given by army and navy medics (all in uni

Exactly, Thats how they did it before. First revision is the same as the old Macs with the new Arch, then once they are happy with everything they create a whole new design.

Im a Scala fan, so all these will be focused around Scala, but they will teach you about Monad and Category Theory. I would start with http://learnyouahaskell.com - Its Haskell based but it covers them pretty well. Otherwise I u

I guess you have to compare the impact of cutting down some trees (and replacing them, I assume? Maybe even replacing them with more trees in a wider area), drying them and cutting them with the impact of mining, smelting and producing Stee

I totally agree, but there simply isn't a good competitor to YouTube, so they're stuck. I know LTT (Linus Tech Tips) have tried to divest their content so its available on multiple platforms, but the one they used that was paid an

The only use case I can think of is for large indoor shopping centres, like Westfield type things. Every so often I want to find a shop in their and have to use the digital maps they have but it would be cool if it was just in Apple Maps re

Because only a small set of teams would be able to afford the testing, and you'd end up with a tiny starting grid with only a few cars. It'd be crap.

Don't think they are owned by Waitrose, pretty sure they are independent. They no longer sell Waitrose products and switched to selling M&S instead.

Not programable at run-time, it was factory programmed and part of the main logic for the processor accessing RAM/CIA/VIA/SID/etc. Im no expert but I think it was mainly memory address decoding etc.

I am dyslexic and this is very true to me. I can read perfectly fine, although I may re-read a word occasionally, or highlight the page as I read to track where I am (A tick I was taught in school to help). But when it comes to writing its

You use £ so I assume UK, but there are way more than 2 super chargers in the UK... So I assume youre talking about Wales as I dont think they have many. They do have plenty of other types of chargers though.

On the Rhymney line I think the ban runs all the way to Cardiff. I remember people hiding the drinks until they came out of the tunnel and then they'd crack them all open. Also nice seeing Wales represented on here!

Not sure where you're living but that's not true. Home broadband has gotten a lot better over the last 10 years here in the UK. I don't know anyone (admittedly I don't know many in the countryside) who can't stream

God the number of times people complained about their laptops being broken only to find out they'd turned WiFi off. Either through a separate kill switch or through a function key. It was a pain the arse.

Yeah they won't put troops on the streets with rifles, that's not how we role in the UK. They will be acting like police officers (who are normally not armed) if they are deployed.

In the UK its certainly not popular with the late 20's crowd. There are still some people hanging on in there but most people seem to have (thankfully) given up on it for anything other than messages and the occasional event.

This guy apparently spent 5 nights in a row down on the platform waiting for the right photo (I imagine taking many photos over the 5 nights until he got this). It really shows how important patience is in getting the right shot.

Tube stations do have bins now, but they're just clear bags on a hoop so that its easy to see the contents and so that there is nothing there to act as shrapnel. You can still see in lots of stations where old bin were, often moulded i
