It is faster because socat creates additional copies/context switches when forwarding data. This tool changes the bind syscall so it becomes a unix socket in the first place.

Yes, but you would not need it since you could connect via SSH directly when having IPoAC connectivity. The ping might suck though.

eBPF programs are supposed to finish in finite time, which is verified at load time. The kernel also provides some data structures like maps/arrays which are of constant size as I can recall. Hence it is not suitable for general purpos
