Many variables are marked as optimized in debuggers - never in Inspector. This even happen sometimes to me, when compiler optimizations are disabled.

You only need to prebuild files, where the include statement is included. Ideally this task would be also automatically done in future by sneaking into the build system.

1. You can enter arbitrarily C++ code (gdb can only call some functions, it cannot even instantiate c++ classes) 2. Variables in Inspector's scope are never optimized away by the compiler 3. You can use it with default optimizations fl

You probably want to use libcling directly instead.

To access local variables, as you can see in the example, Inspector uses libclang ahead of compile-time to generate code that captures all local variables where the REPL is invoked. In JVM you could probably use introspection to achieve th

Cling (the underlying just-in-time compiler) supports this. However Cling is more a standalone REPL and has a different execution flow. Here the idea of Inspector is to be executed from within running, compiled programs

I once started a prototype to integrate cling into a compiled project (like pry in ruby or import pdb; pdb.set_trace() in python). I currently work on different projects, but I would love to see, if somebody else could pick up the idea: ht

In computer science we have more conference paper than journals. This is a good thing since you do not have to pay a shit load of money to get your article in. Also I have not experienced a license yet, where I was forbid to publish it on m

You would probably prefer the netlink interface these days over the old ioctl interface to configure bridges. But for an introduction the older one is probably easier to explain.

Networkd does not handle WLAN authentication. This is the job of wpa_supplicant, which is the defacto standard on linux in every setup until maybe iwd from Intel takes over.
