There are also likely a lot of earthquakes we don't notice because they don't effect populated areas. There's a lot of ocean around the ring of fire.

Or influence by the moon just as it pulls on oceans. Lot of liquid magma down there. Or maybe some once in a rare incident involving coronal mass ejections somehow affecting the core of the planet. Could even be a delayed effect.

There's a tsunami warning list you can sign up for. As well as global earthquake alerts. In my experience they arrive very quickly Usually earthquakes on land don't trigger tsunamis but are more damaging locally

Doesn't Iron Mountain store mostly tape ?

Why not ? It seemed decent. Well - besides the lame Sony proprietary usual mumbo jumbo

Agreed. Is there an easy way besides the simple OS feature ?

Does it actually still do that ? Seems like a big oversight

Technically it's you in the past. Just slightly. Suppose if we wanted to get philosophical it could go in the "ceci n'est pas une pipe" direction but I agree

I suppose you could argue that none of those had the actual engineers behind them attempting to replicate "intelligence" though. Just because random people made metaphors doesn't mean the engineers designing them had any illu

Anything interacting with the real world seems like latency would be hugely important. Something more asynchronous friendly (like coding) is for obvious reasons over represented here

How do we know the content isn't on BetacamXR or straight film reels ?

It's really too bad the disc based storage options made after Blu-ray were discontinued. They made a lot of progress and seem a lot more user friendly than tape.

Your assuming it's all digital and can be stored on drives. It might be a large amount of physical film reel, magnetic tape, and tons of mixed legacy formats

Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't digitised. TV was using BetacamXR up until very recently (and still might be). Tape is pretty reliable and lasts awhile. Now add in tons of other legacy formats and digitising becomes a pretty bi

Might be time to also have it try more three dimension pelican rendering. Or a short animated version (even just a few frames) still in standard SVG

Given how much we know of the human brain this may be partially how we work Maybe we should be asking what our own "system prompts" are ?

Can't you do that with any model you can run on your own hardware ? If you rent other people's shit can't be surprised when they have restrictions on what you can do with it. I would guess renting a car comes with some simila

Love your idea of HBM on top of the chip. I've been saying for years that limiting memory to the edges is going to be an inherent physical limiter. I think the only reason it hasn't become more of a thing is that chip size has als

You make a good point. Maybe the AI apocalypse will actually be when someone hooks up a cat brain to a super advanced AI.
