So, is a manager in this context really needed? I'm in control, I need to make my case towards a new manager and team if I want to move (basically a new interview process), and try to improve on communication and writing even though +8

I don't think that's the issue. The problem is that YouTube/google want "le beurre, l’argent du beurre, et le sourire de la crémière". They want to (and are managing) to distort the openness of the web: they provide

IMO offense is taken, not given. In cases like this the "burden" should be on the party choosing the content they want to see. Everyone should be able to upload a photo of ice on the sidewalk, but the other users should define tha

Exactly, and on top of that paying for premium doesn't remove the ads and tracking everywhere google is present. You'll be paying, and _still_ be the product all around the web.

Reddit is using the same approach as Apollo: basing their business on a free resource. For Apollo it was the api (for which they were willing to pay if the price was fair) For Reddit is free labour and content, which they still want for fre

Not everyone knows about alternatives to streaming. For the daily 10000 (xkcd for reference), that's all they know. It's up to "us" to show them there are alternatives. https://xkcd.com/1053/

I feel this argument is like saying there's no point in developing free and open software because there are already other pieces of software that were adopted, and are de facto standard. In my opinion, this actually promotes the develo
