Ah, right, the mapping can be per server IP, thanks for pointing this out. If Facebook started throwing persistent connections left and right, it imagine it could cause a problem, but short of that, it should be fine.

This. It's liberating to assign a single IP to every service. You can move the IP around with the service, get rid of extra reverse proxies, SNI, etc. I'd prefer it if I could really move around while keeping the IP, that's

The site becomes reachable to IPv6-only hosts. Some servers can work reliably with only IPv6, for instance, until you need to contact IPv4-only servers. I would like my mail server to be IPv6-only, but that's not currently possible, fo

Agreed, that's a personal favorite. We mostly play the base game (with all the DLC; one nice thing is that it's enough for the host to have them). I've tried some mods, but Star wars Interregnum seems to crash for me after a

Oh, but Matrix is much more than an instant messenger. It's a replicated database with ACLs. It could theoretically fail in the IM space and still succeed in the data sharing space. For instance, you could build an Activitypub-like eco

Yes, most of it is Qt quick, some parts are still Qt widgets AFAIK. Subjectively speaking, it's one of the fastest and most fully-featured clients: it even supports desktop sharing with pipewire and gstreamer. It's a lot easier to

Interesting. This sounds like a good fit for CRDTs somewhat, though a centralized architecture might offer more robustness guarantees. On the other hand, it would be quite easy to display sync status as part of the UI.

It looks like a private federation though, so while it's great that Matrix gets adopted more, it seems like every big entity they quote federate privately. Imagine e-mail but only being able to contact your company! It's a bit res

Last time I looked, few pmos devices used libhybris. They're mostly downstream kernels with no GPU acceleration, though they're getting progressively mainlined. Mainlined phones generally try to leverage OSS drivers where possible

Library genesis, some open source projects (unified push uses it for their f-droid repo as well as website). Other than libgen, I don't see a big project that uses it.

I know someone who did something similar in analog electronics. The teacher asked them to come to their office, and asked them a few questions. As the student couldn't answer them, the perfect score was commuted into a failing grade. R

When comparing value with the switch, factor in: 1) Nintendo switch game prices 2) The size of your existing PC-compatible library (including emulators). That drastically changes the value proposition to me.
