How on earth did any of this make it through a code review and get merged in? It seems absurdly careless, unless I am missing something.

Can't say I've used pocket, but I think the newsletter-saving (generated email addresses), open source/selfhostability, and api were differentiators that made me actually start using Omnivore - I wouldn't trust closed so

I believe it saves a reader-mode version of whatever you feed it, by default? I also pull a copy into my Obsidian vault using the plugin/api, but it's easy to implement with the api if you don't want Obsidian too. Makes it ve

I suppose the question is if you have a "right to bear arms" or a "right to bear arms that shall be unhampered by the government of the USA" - and either way, you don't have a "right to 3rd party app stores&quo

Isn't that pretty consistently what studies show - that right-leaning individuals are less likely to act/communicate with empathy and compassion?

You can already read Signal messages using the API directly, if you want to, so depending on how serious you take that issue, it has never been something you could be "sure" of.

Someone at work in a customer-facing role is less free to handle these things like they want to, potentially at the risk of very real consequences to their job. If you work at a bar, or a mechanic's shop, or in the grocery checkout, a

I'm not proposing anything, just noting that Youtube ads are not providing a relevant direct incentive to a lot of creators. Obviously "keeping Youtube running" also matters to anyone using the platform as a part of making a

The creators I watch aren't making their income from YouTube, even when that is their only main platform. Patreon and video sponsorships through direct deals/ad networks are the bulk of it, in a lot of cases.

Less truthful, really. There are good reasons we've moved on to "died by suicide" instead of "committed suicide" by now.

That rule seems like it would lock you out of pretty much all modern technology pretty quickly, to be honest. What do you use for daily computer/mobile use? What white goods manufacturers do you go for? A company will make user-hostile
