I think this is a good example of how Ada handles data. The approach is to describe the data structures and let the compiler handle the best implementation. I don’t know if that always leads to the most efficient code, but what it does is t

I think it is about access. I would guess that not every university in Germany at that time had computers for their students. If you were a student or engineer, heard about this new thing computer and wanted to use it, I don’t think you had

This skandal is 6 years old. I find it hugely concerning that someone has to make a TV play that resonates with the public for politicians or anyone responsible really to show any interest in resolving this. The current activities and propo

Great write up and a good opportunity to get the Ox64 out of his box and try to make a few lights blinky blinky. It’s one of the unexpected joys in IT to take a microcontroller, add a few cable, all per detailed instruction for beginners an

Happy new Year from Germany, we are not quite there yet, but in the other years it always worked and so I am confident we will make it this year as well. Time for one more Dinner For One ;-)

I heard before that Threads is the number one in app stores. If I look right now (23.12) in the Apple App Store then I can’t find it at all in the top 200 (unless I missed something). I see X on 165 and Telegram for example, but no Threads.

It should also be noted that the London underground (the space underground, not the rail system) is extremely convoluted as people have been building stuff there for centuries.

This article is about companion AIs but a similar issue will probably arise around conversational AIs for older and lonely people. I guess this is a very individual decision, but I can’t see how you can devise someone to just sit lonely in

Is this something where it would be helpful if the Linux (environment) developers worked together? Like the (graphics) kernel, GTK, KDE, Wayland, … guys all in one room (or video conference) to discuss requirements iron out one graphics arc

I guess MacOS is more polished than KDE. Probably more polished than anything. A few billions here and there help. Given that KDE is an open source community project it’s quite good.

Firefox is a Wayland ready app. You need to set the env variable MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 tough. Regarding the panel I have no idea. Mine is at the left and I have no problems to move it wherever I want. No idea for that.
