Buying a macbook to develop on is a decision to get a massively overpriced mediocre Linux distribution with numerous developer hostile features.

Laser Squad is basically the perfect level for me. Lots of complexity and subtly in the battles but just one off scenarios, I had no desire for base building on long term character development.

How Java counts CPUs in a Docker like world has changed multiple times since JDK8. That might not sound too important but it has an effect on GC chosen amd obviously how you might have tuned your thread pools.

Insane. Their is no exit. The whole point of Patreon is an efficient way to suck up pennies. It is a great service but their taking of VC funding was even dumber than when Gumroad did it.

After being bitten twice by default timeout values I have the maxim "the defaults will always be wrong" engraved in my heart.

The current streaming renumeration system favours solo singer-songwriters to an almost unfathomable degree. Multi writer bands (what you need for high output) are fucked by the revenue share model.

#brokenrecord Is the hashtag for explication about what a crock of utter shit this is and the unbelievably bent deal that is streaming revenue.

The Spotify scam is incredible. Negotiate a 'deal' with the people that own you. Negotiate with hat deal. In favour of your owners and against the artists. Justify not paying more to the content creators based on making no money

No, I believe OKRs kill collaboration - nothing more nothing less. But furthermore I think your comment is suggestive of the "You can't manage what you can't measure" fallacy that underpins OKRs.

In my experience that still just pushes off the problem one layer. Now you've defined who the team can and can't interact with to an even greater degree than not having anything and it totally kills 'spontaneous' collab

OKRs seem a brilliant way to silo your teams and shut down any cross team collaboration. OKRs become a shield to deflect any external request that doesn't precisely align with a measure. Not a fan.

The 7 day average for Deaths has been static for about a week now. And given the state of the premliminary death date in the 14 day window it will start rising in a week.
