I can confirm that PIA does not reliably get around geo restrictions. There's only so many IPs in the pool, and the content providers will block them. There are alternatives like Hola VPN, a "free" peer to peer VPN except non

It's not the write ahead log that prevents that scenario, it's transaction isolation. And note that the more permissive isolation levels offered by Postgres, for example, do allow that failure mode to occur.

Time-boxed UBI experiments don't represent how people would behave if they had the benefits for life. That's not throwing rational analysis out the window. If anything, trying to extrapolate the results of a UBI pilot that didn&#x

I think the issue is that it'd be really hard to test experimentally. Basically you'd have to give a select group of people UBI for life and do a 40+ year long longitudinal study.

For, what, the fifth time the sample in the study did express cross sex gender identity. They were trans kids, to use your terminology. A patient can't desist from a cross sex gender identity if they never expressed one in the first

No, "trans kids" don't get prescribed blockers just because they ask for it. Does a child just say one day "I'm a girl" (or boy) and then get handed blockers as they head out the door? Of course not. There is a

For the third time, desisters are non-dysphoric cis people. They are not repressing a trans identity. If they still feel gender dysphoria living as their cis gender they have, by definition, not desisted.

Again, these people are not prevented from transitioning. A minority, about 20%, do transition as adults. The rest no longer harbor desire to live as a different gender.

Desisters are not "still in the closet". They have become comfortable in their cis gender and no longer want to transition. Many (~60% of the sample) live happily as same-sex attracted cis people.
