I get what you mean and it's a case by case basis, if people didn't try and push any morals we would all live in vacuums where all we have is the law to tell us what is _right_. A lot of people have no problem with their countries

But people could still ride horses when cars came about and they still can, the transition happened over decades. But this change is happening over a matter of years, the reasons for which are not utilitarian.

Well it won't matter once you change your number, but nobody should have to consciously think about doing that because the company you gave it to is using it for non-user account security purposes.
