Is there a guide anywhere that goes through this sort of thing?

Thanks, I'll give it a look. I can draw cartoons by hand but have never tried on a computer before short of trying with a mouse which never works.

True as that may be it's just as true I won't be buying this. If there's one thing guaranteed to annoy me it's flakey hardware.

Im not complaining, I'm expecting it; and I'm not fussed either, I don't care about internet points. Down vote away it bothers me not.

I didn't expect my comment to be popular, and it's probably going to decimate the measley 7 points I've accrued (I had 9 prior) as might this one, but I tend not to buy anything without a decent warranty. I'm certainly n

Wow, thanks for the reply. Never had a direct reply from a software creator before. I only started using vim at the end of last year so am still very inexperienced. I'm not sure what a file type plugin is and to be honest had a hard en

There's been a few of these articles on HN recently. This method sounds to me like a personal wiki. And for that I use Zim-wiki. It has all the features the article talks about, as well as displaying pictures. It's a folder and te

Prior to 2006 I had never touched a computer, and my phones, if I had one were the classic Nokia types. Between 2000 and 2006 I didn't even watch TV. Spent most of my non work time exercising, drinking, and reading.

What's the difference? When I was looking at using a wiki Vim I couldn't really see the difference between the two, why use one over the other.
73.
by Maha-pudma 6y ago
Certainly not had that problem myself but one of the reasons I use zim-wiki is because it supports displaying embedded pictures which for certain things is very useful.

I'd love to help out but my programming experience is limited. Use zim-wiki all the time on both Linux and Windows. It's one of the best note taking programs out there.

You seem to be half way to implementing Zim Wiki. It deals in text files and folders structured the way you describe. Cross platform and simple with some powerful plugins. It has integrated tagging, journal, to-dos. I have tried vim-wiki bu

That's perfect, might take me a while to get through but I'll definitely get going with it. This sort of thing really interested me. I know I'm not amazing programmer but I do like to understand how something works rather tha

Not really technical but more accountability and better training. I'm assuming you're mostly asking in relation to the recent incident in America. I've no solution to that sort of thing, certainly looking from the outside in,

I don't know but I'm glad they are gone if that's the case. I only use Google very rarely these days and if an amp page presents itself to me umatrix completely blocks it and I take the actual URL from the amp URL and visit t
