How is that T-Mobile's fault, though? Don't give out your phone number. Don't give out your Social Security Number. This seems like common sense to me.

That's not exactly true. . . isn't there a company that was created recently dedicated to mining asteroids and bringing the precious metals back home?

From the business' point of view, why would I keep paying the same salary for 25% less work? That's insane.

That seems like a tenuous argument at best. What I got from the article was that it examined both genders, and that women tended to fall into line with this method slightly more. It would be a different story if it were developed as a metho

It strikes me as odd that this is considered a legitimate offer by some (most?) people. The whole existence of FaceBook is dependent on collecting data from people - why would they offer to check privacy unless it was an attempt to collect

I would argue that true design is the essence of engineering. Or alternatively, that engineering is simply directed design.

Like it or not, the US has a very heavy influence in essentially all financial markets. If they do it, it sets the precedent for the rest of the world.

How is it a win/win if I lose my data when I quit paying the subscription? Having proprietary data formats means that if I want to keep using what I've created, I'm kept hostage by my subscription. It's a lot better with

Subscriptions in general leave a bad taste in my mouth. What happened to just buying the software, and when you felt like upgrading (either because of compatibility issues, or needed functionality) then you can upgrade? Subscriptions defini

This is a subtle point that is often missed. It's the same reason that butt-in-chair hours has a real effect on how those above you perceive your work. Being visible doing Good Things is often more important than not doing the bad thin

I would argue that having laws against things that are easily deterred simply by money is evil. Anything that is worth outlawing should carry a significant penalty with it. Otherwise, we encourage legislation outlawing things for revenue in
