I don't disagree with you, but there is multi-ms latency typically in local setups as well, so certainly some latency must be tolerated by basically all the games. Carmack had an interesting point about this: http://superuse

Are these not closely related? IIRC the plasma containment would be a lot easier if the magnets would work in higher temperatures.

As a Finn I generally get decent connectivity mostly anywhere. The rural town I live in has 7000 residents and all the three networks have decent 4G coverage here. Certainly not 1Gbps, but always tens of Mbps. Pretty much wherever I go, I h

Everyone I know doing recruiting says that FizzBuzz reliably disqualifies surprisingly large fraction of candidates. Even half of them, even after prefiltering by education or relevant experience.

IIRC among other pressures, Intel pushed Microsoft to consider one of their weaker GPUs Aero compatible. That allowed many PC OEMs to ship Vista PCs with very underpowered GPUs.

There is so much more to staying anonymous in the web than just the transport layer. With all the tracking cookies you have in your browser, it doesn't matter if you use Tor or not. There's an array of privacy-enhancing extensions

That is not correct. All the phone vendors need licenses to some Nokia IP as they own much of the core patents needed for GSM/UMTS/LTE radio implementations. They've licensed them to Microsoft among others. I guess MS got all

It's hardly unique. Here in Finland, the prices are comparable, though data caps are rare. 20€/mo gets you LTE with some bundled calls and SMS. Rest of the Nordics should be fairly similar. Currently I pay 18€/mo for my 50Mbp

I have extremely limited knowledge of this subject, but I think they could be transformer coils. For long haul lines one would want to have higher voltage to keep resistance loss at bay.
